This crazy idea for a cake topper business started indirectly about 15 years ago when I took a cake decorating class.  I was a terrible student and didn't read the directions for my class.  I came to the class unprepared and with none of the things I was supposed to bring.  Auspicious beginnings right?  Despite that I plugged through the class, started paying attention and fell in love with cake decorating. I loved the constant challenge and the fact that you could literally learn something new each day.

In 2006 my cousin and his bride wanted a cake for their wedding.  They had an adorable, humorous, invitation with a cave couple on it.  I thought it would be fun to have  a cave man and woman for a topper so I decided to try a one that they could keep (my previous toppers had been done in sugar paste) my first real hand at polymer clay. I had done a few little things here and there but nothing substantial.  When I saw the result I was smitten.  What a fantastic medium.  It's easy to mold, requires few tools and space and the projects you can make are limitless! I think I might love it even more than my cakes.  Shhhh. Don't tell anyone.

I have a wonderful husband and a fun loving son who are very supportive of my clay addiction. Thanks for looking at my website.  Please feel free to contact me to chat about cakes or clay anytime.
